Capital Campaign Hits 80%
We're now into the third year of our three-year capital campaign designed to finance the recent renovation.
The big news is that gifts have now topped the 80% mark of pledges.
It's a significant barrier because historically such campaigns falter at the 80% mark and the remainder is never fulfilled. Even though the building is complete, Gerald Hurley reports we still have $342,052.49 in outstanding pledges.
Let's push through to the end.
66 Club Continues to Grow!
How much do you know about the Bible? Can you:
- Name the order of the creation?
- Recite the Beatitudes from Matthew 5?
- Name the miracles recorded in John's gospel?
If you can't, many of our children can due to their growth in the 66 Club, a program for our children to learn Bible facts. Children learn facts in increasing tiers, advancing through several levels.
Currently, the 66 Club has 77 members, including 3 who are more than halfway up the ladder.
You see their faces on the screen on Sundays, but you will hear more from them in the future as teachers and leaders.
If you are a new Waterview member with children, start your kids on their journey of faith through getting them involved in the 66 Club.

handbook.)
Sound Ministry Improves Sound
Over the past month, the Sound ministry under Buddy Davis and Greg Seale, have made dramatic improvements in equipment to help you hear better in the auditorium. All wired microphones have been replaced with wireless systems which allow for greater flexibility and attractiveness. The goal is to get our sound reinforcement in the auditorium as clear as possible.
Our thanks to the deacons and to Fred Allen who installed much of the equipment.
Have You Cast Your Bread Yet?
Some weeks ago, many of you signed up to share THE STORY DVD with a friend, neighbor, or family member. The first day saw an outpouring of response to this challenge.
Now in the days since the beginning of the campaign, the total number of those who have pledged to share the "good news" has risen to about 150 people. (Of course, there are more studies than that, because some have given out more than one DVD.)
It's not too late for you to make that decision and join the crowd of Waterview folks offering the story of the Bible on DVD to those they love and esteem the most. Just go by the transaction counter in the main foyer, just outside the office, and sign up today!
Now for those who have already signed up, we need some more information. We need to know if you have delivered your DVD to that special person.
Why do we need to know this? We need to know so we will be sure that our campaign to share the gospel has actually been done. So you need to come by the same transaction counter and enter the name of the person to whom you gave your gift of THE STORY.
Also, next week in this bulletin, we plan to begin showing a list of the names of those who have delivered their gift DVD.
The next week we will begin listing the names of those who signed up, but have not yet delivered their DVD. (Remember, I promised you in the sermon that if you would sign up, I would help you with your motivation!)
Lest I forget, if you have another friend you'd like to share with, just come by the transaction counter and sign up for the second or third friend with which you'd like to share.
